Yeats August 10, 1913.' The Marchioness of Londonderry's copy with her pictorial bookplate on front pastedown. Bound by Hatchards in dark blue crushed morocco ruled in gilt and with small gilt circles & inlaid red morocco hearts in corners, spine ruled in gilt with five raised bands, all edges gilt. Poems mainly from 'The Wind Among the Reeds,' 'In the Seven Woods,' and 'The Green Helmet.' Edith Helen Vane-Tempest-Stewart, Marchioness of Londonderry, was a noted and influential society hostess in the Britain in the early 20th century. She wrote several books including 'The Magic Ink-Pot' (1928), a charming book of Irish fairy tales and mythology. A very rare signed copy (inscribed a few weeks after publication) of this collection originally issued in plain grey paper boards and linen spine. The beautiful binding on this copy is a fitting homage to the poems contained within.
