Recognized as one of the great pairings of an inimitable illustrator and the imagination of a remarkable storyteller, this work became an extremely influential edition with the marvelous color plates and drawings by Arthur Rackham, showing both a dark side and a sensitivity to the fantasy and "wonder" in the story. This work was among the first to offer a trade edition and a limited edition signed by the artist that brought special attention to the quality of the art.
