Ramsey Colles (1862-1919) combined journalism with the law, having qualified and practised as a barrister. Publisher of the controversial 'Irish Figaro,' he was a hard-line Tory, who loathed every aspect of Liberalism, the Home Rule movement, the Irish literary revival and all figures associated with it.
