The Man with the Golden Gun. London: Cape, 1965. First edition, second issue binding (without 'gun' embossed in gilt to upper board). Publisher's black cloth, spine lettered in gilt, in pictorial dust jacket with gun wrapping around and flies, designed by Richard Chopping. UK Price (18s net) present on front flap of wrapper which has all corners clipped by the publisher. Light shelf-wear to boards, and wear to top margin of jacket, contents in very good condition.
Only a very limited number of first state copies (said to be less than 1,000) were made with the famous golden gun embossed on the front cover prior to the design changes for quality reasons. The present copy is the more common second state printing. The source of the movie staring Roger Moore as James Bond, agent 007 and Moore's second Bond film.
