The Winding Stair and Other Poems. London: Macmillan, 1933. Second Impression. Pp ix, 101. Olive green cloth boards, decorated in blind on upper cover, with gilt design and title on spine, a clean bright copy [Wade169].
The title poem was originally published by Fountain Press (New York) in a signed limited edition, in 1929. The title refers to the staircase in the Thoor Ballylee castle which Yeats had purchased and lived in with his family for some time. The cover designed by Thomas Sturge Moore was Yeats's personal favourite. The first impression was published in September 1933.
