Ulysses. A Presentation Edition Hand-Bound to Commemorate the Motion Picture Production of James Joyce's "Ulysses" Dublin 1966. New York: The Walter Reade Jr., Joseph Strick Edition, 1966 published by Random House. Privately Printed in a Limited Edition of 100 Numbered copies. This copy Number 63. Thick 8vo, beautifully bound by Maurin in full deep blue morocco, with gilt-ruled covers and decorated spine with raised bands; inner dentells and marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. A few minor scuff marks to lower panels of spine otherwise a fine copy.  Special printing to commemorate the first and so far only attempt to present  Joyce's Ulysses "The most important novel of the 20th century ..with all its frank, bold, searing insight into the heart and mind of man"  on the big screen. Although the novel is set in 1904, the film portrays the city as it was in the 1960s. Joseph Strick obtained a BAFTA and Golden Globe nomination on foot of the film as well as an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
