Rex Mackey was barrister, actor, and writer. Called to the bar in 1938 he commenced practice on the north-western circuit. At the time of his death, aged 89, he had been a member of the bar for 61 years and was, as the longest serving member of the Law Library, entitled to the honorary title of Father of the Bar.
