Second part Illustrated with thirteen folded copperplate engravings & maps throughout the text. Part I covers events from 1689 to 1691, including: The arrival of Williamite forces, the Battle of the Boyne and the siege of Derry. Part II (Continuation) extends the narrative to the Treaty of Limerick and the post-war settlement.
George Warter Story, an English clergyman and army chaplain. He writes as an eyewitness, having served as chaplain to the Earl of Drogheda’s regiment, giving his account immediacy and detail. Story was a staunch Protestant and Williamite supporter, and his narrative reflects the triumphalism of the victors. He portrays Irish Catholics and Jacobites in a negative light, aligning with the broader English Protestant narrative of the time.
