Michael Bond (1926-2017) created one of the most beloved characters in children’s literature when he introduced Paddington Bear in ‘A Bear Called Paddington’ (1958) . The stories follow the adventures of a polite, marmalade-loving bear from “Darkest Peru” who is found at Paddington Station by the Brown family and welcomed into their home.
