First published by The Journal of the Irish Folk Song Society in 1919, the author gathers in this volume songs collected over a period of twelve years. An interest which developed when she moved to Tuam, in Co. Galway.

Contains descriptive notes, airs in staff notation, Irish words with English translations, bibliographical notes, etc.
