“The House at Pooh Corner” was originally published by Methuen on 11th October 1928 and was the last of the four Pooh books. Methuen issued the present edition on the fiftieth anniversary of that date, handbound by Zaehnsdorf and signed by Christopher Milne (1920-1996), the author’s son and the inspiration for Christopher Robin.

Milne’s final Pooh book and the one when he introduced a new character “Tigger.” Christopher Robin was growing up, soon to leave for boarding school, and The House at Pooh Corner would be a farewell. But first there was an introduction to be made. Milne had bought his son a stuffed tiger, “Tigger”, and told Ernest Shepard that he was longing to see the illustrations for this new character, who would become one of the author’s most popular creations.
