The first English language edition of Flann O’Brien’s celebrated satirical novel ‘An Béal Bocht’ (published in 1941), featuring Steadman’s stunning illustrations.

This translation by Patrick C. Power of O’Brien’s merciless, hilarious send-up of the romanticised “misery memoir” remains the definitive English-language introduction to one of the funniest and most pointed satires in Irish literature.
