Oscar Wilde’s Wilde’s last prose work is this moving essay on spirituality and faith written to his former partner Lord Alfred Douglas (‘Bosie’ – with whom Wilde’s relationship famously led to his conviction and imprisonment for ‘gross indecency’), during the last months of his imprisonment.
On his death in 1900 it was put in the hands of his executor Robert Ross and published posthumously in 1905.
