Red cloth boards in publisher’s multi-coloured dust jacket. Head of jacket a little frayed, but overall a nice bright copy in publisher’s dust jacket.

With a postcard drawing of Russian composer, Sergei Rachmaninov by Leonid Pasternak (the author’s father) Inscribed on verso with note from Lydia Pasternak (the author’s sister):

Lydia Pasternak (1902-1989) was an author, poet, translator, and research chemist. She became the preeminent translator of her brother Boris’s poetry into English, & also wrote short stories and critical articles about her brother’s work and the art of translation.

A lovely copy of this classic Russian tale made famous by the 1965 movie starring Omar Sharif and Julie Christie.
