Alice Barber Stephens was an American painter and engraver, Her work regularly appeared in magazines such as Scribner’s Monthly, Harper’s Weekly, and The Ladies Home Journal.

Originally published in two volumes in 1868 and 1869 and based on the author’s own youthful experiences, ‘Little Women’ is one of the best-loved children’s stories of all time. A coming-of-age novel It describes the family life of the four March sisters living in a small New England community, in the Northeastern United States.
