The binding is square and clean, identified as Currey’s “A” binding with “Cassell” in gilt at the foot of the spine. The original dust jacket presents well; a closed tear to the upper hinge has been repaired.

The second of Wells’s two major utopian fantasies. In this work, Wells presents a “scientific fantasy” in which characters from our world are accidentally transported to a parallel universe, discovering a seemingly perfect utopian society. It stands as one of the author’s most imaginative and thought-provoking later works.
