Eugene Field was known as the ‘Poet of childhood.’ Some of his most famous poems are “Wynken, Blynken, and Nod”, “The Duel” (also known as “The Gingham Dog and the Calico Cat”), and “Little Boy Blue.
American painter and illustrator, Maxfield Parrish, was active in the first half of the 20th century. He is known for his distinctive saturated hues and paintings of whimsical mythological scenes.
