The first Charles Brock illustrated edition was published in 1895, containing numerous full-page illustrations throughout the text.

C.E. Brock was one of four artist brothers one of which was another famous book illustrator Henry Matthew Brock. A very respected & successful book illustrator he illustrated the works of authors such as Jonathan Swift, William Thackeray, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and George Eliot.
