Salem’s Lot. Book Club Edition (1975)

Author: Stephen

Book ID: 64430

Price: 150.00

Salem’s Lot. New York: Doubleday, 1975. Later printing. Quarter black cloth, red paper boards, title lettered in gilt to spine. In publisher’s pictorial dust jacket. A fine bright copy.

An uncommon early trade edition or a book club variant. Features the original jacket illustration with bold white and orange titles over black with quiet hamlet pictured at centre of the “O” by Dave Christensen.

The first edition was published by Doubleday in 1975, with the notable misprint on the dust jacket blurb (Fr. Cody instead of Fr Callahan). One of Stephen King’s true classics where he offers an interpretation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

The basis of the popular miniseries television adaptation starring David Soul and James Mason (1979), it was King’s second published novel.
