Stephen Oliver the Younger’ (so titled) is the pseudonym of William Andrew Chatto. A minor angling classic, this work contains two songs, ‘The Angler’s Call’ and ‘The Angler’s Invitation’, which were afterwards included in the ‘Newcastle Fishers’ Garlands’.

In the appendix the author gives a well-written review of the older angling literature
