The Hound of the Baskervilles. Another Adventure of Sherlock Holmes. London: George Newnes, 1902. First Edition. Pp 358. Publisher’s red pictorial cloth lettered in gilt, with silloutte illustration of the hound to centre. Cloth lightly faded worn along the hinges, lacks the half-title pages; worm holing to inner margins of rear six leaves, otherwise contents pages in fine bright condition.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, and fifteen plates by Sidney Paget.

The first edition with the following issue points: on page 13, line 3 the word “you” has been printed in place of “your,” and, on page 76 the illustration is a mirror image as the signature of the illustrator is reversed.

Originally serialized in The Strand Magazine between August 1901 and April 1902, this is the first edition in book form, published by George Newnes in March 1902.
