The Jungle Book was first published in book form in 1894; this edition with the Detmold illustrations was first published in 1908. Kipling’s classic tale featuring Shere Khan the tiger and Baloo the bear, and the boy or “man-cub” Mowgli, who is raised in the jungle by wolves.
