The first edition was published in three volumes (December 1847) by Thomas Newby and written under the pen names of Ellis & Acton Bell (Emily & Anne Bronte). The first two volumes containing Wuthering Heights and the third volume Agnes Grey.

This new edition contains a biographical notice of Ellis and Acton Bell and an preface to ‘Wuthering Heights’ by Currer Bell.
