Original red cloth, upper covers ruled in gilt with cameo stamped in gilt to Centre of boards, title in gilt to spine, tope edges in gilt. Lightly faded at spines, a few blemish marks to second volume, but overall a nice bright set.

English illustrator and satirical artist John Tenniel (especially known for his work in Punch magazine) illustrated the first edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and Through the Looking-Glass (1872).

An early edition set of Lewis Carroll’s most iconic children’s story – first published in 1865 & 1872, and has now been reprinted and translated into more than 100 languages.
