Light fraying to top margin of jacket, pale off-setting to some of the plates (normal in this edition) with staining to lower margins of pages 34 & 35; but overall a nice bright copy.

Arthur Rackham (1867-1939) was one of the premier illustrators of the twentieth century. Throughout his career, he developed a very individual style that was to influence a whole generation of children and artists. His haunting humour and dream-like romance enhance the enchantment of Cinderella. In 1919 he mastered his silhouette style with his illustrated Cinderella. His ability to tell the story with black and white outlines is truly masterful.
