In addition to studio portraiture and commission work, William Lawrence (1840–1932) sold photographs & albums of topographical views representing each of the thirty-two counties. From the late 1890s the firm secured a substantial corner of the lucrative postcard market which promoted a positive image of Ireland abroad.
