This work presents the findings of a comprehensive ten-year survey conducted by members of the Dublin Naturalists’ Field Club—the first complete study of the county’s flora since Colgan’s Flora of the County Dublin (1904).

Part I examines the region’s topography, climate, geology, and soils, along with a historical overview of botanical research in the area. It also details eight distinct botanical districts and their principal habitats.

Part II provides a systematic catalogue of over 1,300 vascular plants, including flowering plants, ferns, horsetails, clubmosses, and stoneworts. Each entry includes data on historical records, frequency, habitats, and notable sites, supplemented by distribution maps for more than 200 selected species.
