James Bentley Gordon (1750-1819) clergyman and historian, was rector of Killegney, in the Diocese of Ferns Co. Wexford, and of Cannaway, in the Diocese of Cork.

He published his best known work ‘A History of the Rebellion in Ireland in 1798,’ in 1801.
