Clonmacnoise, also known as Cluain Mhic Nóis in Irish, is a ruined monastery situated in County Offaly. It lies along the River Shannon, south of Athlone.

The monastery was founded in 544 by Saint Ciarán. Until the 9th century, Clonmacnoise had close associations with the kings of Connacht.
