The “Report of the Labour Commission to Ireland” (also known as the Henderson Report) was published in 1921 and was a significant document examining labor conditions in Ireland during the early 20th century.
Arthur Henderson was a prominent British Labour Party politician and trade unionists. The commission included Labour Party and trade union representatives sent to investigate labor conditions in Ireland amid political and economic turmoil. The report was produced during the Irish War of Independence (1919–1921), a period of intense conflict between Irish republicans and British forces.
The report was sympathetic to Irish labor and nationalist causes, aligning with the British Labour Party’s growing criticism of British policy in Ireland.
