A first hand account of the political struggles in Ireland from c.1779 to the Act of Union in 1800, or ‘Ireland Extinguished’ as Barrington put it.
It includes chapters on the 1798 Rebellion, lists the M.P.’s who voted for and against the Union with brief details of their activities and or subsequent fortunes, the influences placed on them, family relationships, changes of side, etc.
