Albert Venn Dicey was an influential British professor of law. He wrote books on legal practice and several presenting his political views, particularly arguing against Home Rule in Ireland.

The Parnell Commission, officially Special Commission on Parnellism and Crime, was a judicial inquiry in the late 1880s into allegations of crimes by Irish parliamentarian Charles Stewart Parnell which resulted in his vindication. Published in 1890, it was written in response to the charges of “Complicity” in crime brought against Parnell and other leaders of the Land League
