George Henry Bassett (1845–1908) was an Irish-born publisher and editor best known for producing a series of county directories in the 1880s
He published seven Irish county directories in all: Antrim, Armagh, Down, Kilkenny, Louth, Tipperary, and Wexford. These directories combined local history, economic and social notes, and detailed listings of office holders, farmers, traders, and residents in towns and villages; and remain invaluable resources for historians and genealogists.
