Somerville & Ross, writer and artist, were tasked with writing this whimiscal travel work depicting Wales as a tourist destination. It followed in the vein of their ‘Through Connemara in a Governess Cart’ published in 1893.

Edith Somerville and Martin Ross were two extraordinary Irish female writers. They produced one of the most popular and best-selling series of comic Irish short stories of its time – The Irish R.M. tales (1899-1914).
