The poet’s version of an early Irish poem ‘Sgith mo crob on Scribinn’ entitled ‘Columcille the Scribe’. This translation was originally written by Seamus Heaney to celebrate his enrolment as a member of the Royal Irish Academy in the Guildhall, Derry, on the 9th of June 1997, the fourteen-hundredth anniversary of the death of Saint Columcille.

Written on vellum in a script derived from the Cathach, by calligrapher and authority on early Irish manuscripts, Tim O’Neill.
