The term ‘Dalriada’ refers to a tribe that originated in southwest Ireland but eventually migrated to the far northeastern corner of the island, settling in what is now present-day Antrim.

This migration led to Dalriada becoming one of the three constituent kingdoms within the overkingdom of Uladh, which encompassed most of modern Ulster.
