Fishing in the Sky: Love Poems. Published by Poet and Printer, Woodford Green, Essex, 1975. First Edition. P, 24. Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. A very good copy.

Inscribed by Michael Longley to fellow poet Eavan Boland on the title page.

A notable association copy to the Irish poet Eavan Boland, her husband Kevin, and their daughter Sarah, dated “Belfast 12.i.7. This inscription is particularly resonant given Longley’s standing within Irish poetry and his connections to other major figures of his generation.

A scarce pamphlet from a small press, representing a relatively early work by the Northern Irish poet who would later become one of Ireland’s most celebrated lyric voices.
