A pirated edition, though stated to have been published in Paris, was actually published by Leonard Smithers in London; with the exception of the title page, it ‘is a line for line reprint of the Bodley Head edition of 1893. The cast members listed in the programme (as in the first edition) also appear on a special printed page in the book.
