Beautifully illustrated throughout with fine pencil sketches depicting various scenes and characters; with text and illustrations framed in decorative panels on each page.

First published in 1846 & widely acknowledged to be Maclise’s best book. Moore was very pleased with the results and spoke of an “Irish Pencil” having lent its aid to an “Irish Pen.”
