“Do Séamus Ó Ceallaig, le meas mór ón udhdar, 9/xi/19”

Séamus Ó Ceallaig was a passionate nationalist and Irish speaker & a published scholar of early Irish history. He was also doctor to St Enda’s school, Rathfarnham, founded by Patrick Pearse and was an active member of the Gaelic League. A close associate of the leaders of the 1916, Ó Ceallaigh was called on by the rebels to treat the wounded in the General Post Office.

James Hayes played a crucial role in ensuring that Pearse’s literary contributions were accessible to a wider audience, contributing to the rich tapestry of Irish literature and history.
