Is The Order of R.R. & A.C. to Remain a Magical Order? This Essay must not be given to any but Adepti of the Order of R.R. & A.C. Written in March, 1901, and Given to the Adepti of the Order of R.R. & A.C. in April 1901. Pp, 30, uncut. Publisher’s brown wrappers lettered in black, corners a little chipped, ink blot to foot to upper cover; otherwise a fine bright copy.

A very rare essay by Yeats. The Order Rubidae Rosae & Aureae Crucis was apparently a section of the Order of the Golden Dawn, the mystical society to which Yeats belonged.

Each member adopted a motto, usually in Latin, and was known in the Order by the initials of the motto; Yeats adopted name was ‘D.E.D.I’ (Daemon Est Deus Inversus).
