The Cattle-raid of Cooley (present day Cooley in Co. Louth) is the longest and most important heroic tale of the Ulster cycle. It tells of a foray made by Queen Medb of Connacht into the territory of Ulaid, for the purpose of carrying off the bull Donn Cúalnge from the district of Cúalnge.
