The North myths retold by Padric Colum of the gods and goddesses of Asgard, such as Odin and his sons Baldur, Hodur, and Vida. It also includes the adventures of the hero Sigurd, who follows the structure of the mythic hero’s journey.

William Andrew Pogany was a prolific Hungarian illustrator of children’s and other books. In 1914, Pogany moved to New York City to broaden his artistic talents.
