Beckett, born in 1906, grew up in the South Dublin suburb. His family lived in a large house ‘Cooldrinagh’ on Kerrymount Avenue, until 1927. The world-famous avant-garde novelist, playwright, theatre director, and poet lived in Paris for most of his adult life. But much of his work betrayed his deep roots in Dublin. Beckett won a Nobel Prize for Literature in 1969.

This set was given to Beckett by the publisher’s, Grove Press.
