With 16 tipped-in plates & pictorial endpapers. Beautifully Illustrated in colour by Jessie M. King in her distinctive style creating a fairy-tale feel with the use of dotted lines, in watercolour & black and white.

This volume includes The Young King, The Birthday of the Infanta, and The Star-Child. While these stories are clearly intended for a younger audience, Wilde, with typical sardonic quip declared that the stories were ‘intended neither for the British child nor the British public.’

Scottish born Jessie M. King is known for her Art Nouveau style (Glasgow School) drawings but she also designed jewelry, greeting cards, fabric, ceramics and batik textiles.
