THE RARE PROSPECTUS ISSUED BY SYLVIA BEACH AT SHAKESPEARE & COMPANY IN ADVANCE OF THE PUBLICATION OF “ULYSSES”

At least three versions of the prospectus are known; this example gives the likely publication date of Autumn 1921 and bears the address 8, rue Dupuytren. In the event Joyce’s continuing revisions, and his wish that the work appear close to his birthday meant that publication was delayed until February 1922.
