The Wind Among the Reeds. Published by John Lane: The Bodley Head. New York and London, 1902. Publisher’s smooth blue cloth binding with gilt design of interwoven reeds to upper & lower covers, title lettered in gilt to spine. Gilt faded with the usual oxidisation on covers; neat gift inscription (Christmas 1905) to front free endpaper. A few neat annotations in pencil to text, contents bright and clean.

The binding, which was one of Yeats’ favorites, was designed by Althea Gyles.

First published by Elkin Mathews in 1899, this famous collection contains many love poems, including: Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven; A Poet to his Beloved; To my Heart, bidding it have no Fear; The Secret Rose; The Travail of Passion, A Cradle Song, The Fiddler of Dooney, etc.
