Rev W[illiam] G[eorge] Dowsley (1871-1947), novelist. Born in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, he was ordained in Bristol in 1901. He wrote some novels taking a nationalist view of Irish history. Travelling Men (1925) is set in Clonmel in 1801; Far Away Cows Have Long Horns (1931) in Ireland and South Africa.
