William Francis Ainsworth (1807-1896) was a British surgeon, geographer and geologist. As an acknowledged expert on cholera, he offered his services as a physician during an epidemic in Ireland in the 1830’s, recording incidents of that time in Ainsworth’s Magazine and the New Monthly Magazine.
