Kenneth Essex Edgeworth was an was an Irish engineer, theoretical astronomer and economist. This pamphlet was produced to promote the use of turf instead of coal and gas, which were in short supply because of the war in Europe. He also describes a number of turf burning appliances, illustrated with line drawings, which he hoped to manufacture.
